WellbeingWorks Wheel of Life Exercise - A Useful Starting Point...

Sometimes life can seem more challenging than usual and it is not always easy to identify why you may be feeling
'out of sorts' or that things are just 'not flowing', so by using this simple exercise you can get a quick 'visual snapshot' of how key areas of your life are looking for you right now and whether you feel in harmony and balance, or it can clearly highlight what needs to be addressed and requires your time and attention, which is not always easy to do when there is a lot going on and life is hectic to the point of overwhelm.

Take a Break - Have a Quick Nap!

Because of modern technology we can DO so much more than ever before and the temptation to fit even more in is always lurking there with greater expectations placed upon people from all areas! For us to maintain that all important work / life balance it is essential that we take regular breaks and simply 'pause' and become conscious of our posture, realign and release tension through taking a deep breath in, hold and then exhale at the same time letting go of all tightness in the body! This technique done regularly every 15 minutes will leave you feeling so much more alert and relaxed. There are some very interesting studies showing the importance of having a 20 minutes 'nap' in the afternoon will provide someone with a complete body/mind revitalisation thus ensuring both short and long term benefits to the individual's health and wellbeing plus in work terms communication is more effective and productivity is greater too!

Why do we suffer in silence, especially in our places of work, when really if we were honest with one another about any concerns, difficulties, issues; consequently, misunderstandings easily arise and cause so much distress when realistically it could have been avoided.  So much time is wasted through this uncertain environment, so consider the alternative, how liberating and empowering a business could be if there was a more supportive model in place.  Productivity would be up and absenteeism would most certainly be down.
